Who Is Jesus?
God loves the world—and you—so much that he sent his son Jesus to earth.
John 3:16 says: “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”
Jesus’ mission on earth was to reconcile people to God. Everywhere he went, he spoke of a coming Kingdom that would last forever, where anyone could come and begin a new life.
A Controversial Figure
Everywhere Jesus went, people either loved him or hated him. People were amazed when he raised dead people to life, healed the sick, cast out demons, and multiplied food, but some people got angry when he claimed to be God.
When Jesus asked His followers who he was, only one got it right. Some thought he was just another rabbi or holy man, while others though he was an Old Testament prophet raised from the dead. But Peter saw the truth: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16: 13-16).
Ultimately, Jesus’ enemies sentenced him to die on a cross. But just three days later, Jesus defeated death once and for all by rising from the dead.
Even now, people wrestle with who Jesus really was. But each of us has to decide what we will believe about Him.
Are You Ready for a New Beginning?
Today, Jesus is inviting you to discover a new life with him. God wants to forgive your sins and give you a new life filled with goodness, love, and purpose.
Starting a new life with Jesus entails submitting to God and his plan and purpose for you. It requires turning away from your old way of living, asking for forgiveness for your sins, and inviting God to lead you into a new life.
All you have to do is ask, as Romans 10:9 says: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Salvation is God’s free gift to us.
When you say yes to Jesus, you become a permanent member of the family of God and a reflection of God to the rest of the world. He gives you purpose and power to live the life He planned for you from the beginning of the world.

Dear Jesus, I have been far away from God because of the way I have chosen to live my life. I don’t want to go through life without you anymore. I need you. Forgive me for the wrong choices I have made.
Today I surrender my life to you and I accept your love and forgiveness. Come into my life and make me a new person. Give me rest in my soul. Show me the purpose I was created for. Help me follow you and show the world who you are every day. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
